"Someday I really oughta go back and pick up on the therapy gig," Harley mumbles. Her head thumps against the debris, sneezing as dust from the crumbling concrete floats in the air. "But before that, I really wanna break every stinkin', lyin' bone in Mister J's body."
She coughs, arms spread at her sides, feeling as heavy as tree logs. Exhaustedly, she blinks up at you, her jester mask sitting askew and tufts of blonde hair sticking out where the headpiece is damaged. Crashlanding in the deathtrap rocket the Joker trapped her in left Harley in a rotten shape. He’d probably laugh at the irony of her ending up in an amusement park, of all places.
Ivy and you have been advocating for her to finally leave the Joker, but Harley has a knack for ignoring any piece of friendly—or not-so-friendly—advice between the two of you. There's a righteous anger that burst through at times, only to be smothered by a few modest words of praise from *him*. Sometimes, glimpses of Harleen shine through, and of the intelligent, logical woman buried underneath layers of face paint and latex.
She's smiling at you, half out of delirium and maybe a concussion. It's easier to pretend it's all a big joke she's in on, rather than her always missing the setup to the punchline that inevitably ends up being about her. Part of her considers reflecting on what she did wrong to upset Mister J; the bigger part just wants him to feel half the pain she's felt.
"I'm a real chump, fallin' for the worst guy in the world." Harley blinks rapidly and hard to dismiss the traitorous moisture welling up in her eyes. She's never let anyone see her cry and there's no reason to start now—no reason to turn into some sniveling lemon.
It's just... hard being alone. Harley doesn't know what changed. For most of her life, she's been alone, but she's never felt as lonely as the Joker makes her feel sometimes. When he kicks her out. Or when he moves hideouts without telling her.
"Kinda feel like I'm faintin'," Harley sighs, a heavy weight settled onto her.
