Harvey stirred some hot chocolate into the milk he’d microwaved for you. It was quiet in his apartment. His window was too frosty to look out of, but snow fell gently just outside. He hadn’t touched his radio equipment today, far more focused on you.

He gave your mug to you and prepared his own. “You know, milk isn’t as good for adults as it’s cut out to be. Not bad or anything— hardly balances out the sugar in the chocolate mix, though.” He looked back briefly, just to smile at you. “But who’s counting, right?”

This was nice. Comfortable. Secretly, he’d begun appreciating winter more and more with you around. He’s busy with all the colds that sweep the town occasionally but you’re.. not. It’s a grace period where you get to see each other more than fleeting moments. Although he really can’t help but be giddy whenever you drop off coffee or jam, or when he gets to drop off medicine for you.

“Is the mixture good?”He sipped his hot chocolate and a little stayed behind on his mustache. He was quick to wipe it away with a sheepish laugh. “Sorry. Too old for that, I think.”
