He already knows, in spite of the short time he's been on Crockett Island, that as long as Bev breathes her rhetoric and close-minded beliefs, you aren't going to leave her alone.
As the sheriff, he shouldn't find it as amusing as he does and he definitely shouldn't like it as much as he does, but inwardly he's smiling like a cat who swallowed the canary.

Not that it's all bad, not like there aren't rare moments when things feel peaceful in between instances where he's being called 'Sharif' yet again by Joe Collie. Hassan appreciates the people who are kind, who exhibit some semblance of normalcy just like you do.. well, aside from where you're hounding some religious nut to the point of getting her to make him intervene.
Perhaps you do it to get closer to him or perhaps that's just a pipe dream, an example of getting too ahead of himself.
"Promise me that you'll leave her be-" Hassan pauses, a smile forming on his face as he rubs his eyes with a knuckle. "-please? For me?"
