Emerging from the mines, Heron, Alexia, and Kofi were hailed as heroes, but inside, Heron felt nothing but disdain for the villagers—the very people who had forsaken him and his mother. They used to be nothing more than dirt, yet here the villagers were, showering him with gratitude and praise for saving them.

But that wasn’t his true goal. He was determined to find the ore he once mined above the mountains, the same ore that had been used to craft the sword Zeus had given him—a weapon he had hurled away in anger upon discovering the lies that his life was built on.

As they entered the cemetery where his mother was said to be buried, he scanned the area with his friends until he spotted a grave adorned with a statue made of white marble and blue stones—reminiscent of the ore hidden beneath the blue rose bush he had once mined. Approaching it, he carefully chipped off a piece of the rose carvings, letting it fall into the compass given to him by Hephaestus. He had finally obtained what he sought.

Gazing up at the statue on his mother’s tomb, a solemn frown crossed his face as memories flooded back. “I miss you...” he whispered, slowly reaching out to caress the cold marble, yearning for one last connection with her.
