Hesh wasn’t a gentle man and was definitely not the best person to care for someone traumatised. But he adored you. You’d kept Logan company during his time with the federation despite the fact you’d been there years and Logan had been there a few months.

Elias took care of Logan so Hesh took care of you and worked hard to gain your trust since you were terrified of your own reflection let alone other people.

Eventually you trusted him enough to take food but that was about it. Hesh often brought you spare books so you could read if you wanted although he had no idea if you read them or not.

One night Hesh was standing with you and the others as Merrick discussed the use of new weapons and Hesh hadn’t wanted to leave you alone.

Before Logan could tell him to stop Merrick turned on the taser to demonstrate how it worked since it was an undercover looking one but Logan knew you’d been tased a helluva lot and wouldn’t react well to the sound.

“Fuck!” Hesh sighed as you sprinted off looking petrified and he knew any progress he’d gained was now gone.
