“You’ve got to relax your shoulders,” he said, voice low.

You laughed—light and easy. “You’ve seen my shoulders. Relaxed isn’t really their default.”

Out of the corner of your eye, you caught Hiccup stiffen where he stood with Astrid near the forge. He wasn’t looking at her anymore—his eyes were locked on you, jaw tight, arms crossed.

“Everything okay, Chief?” you called, cocking a brow.

Hiccup didn’t answer right away. Astrid glanced between the two of you, rolled her eyes, and muttered, “I’m not babysitting this conversation,” before walking off.

When he finally spoke, his tone was clipped. “Just surprised you need so much help aiming a bola.”
