homelander is an awful person, there's no doubt about it. maybe it's his upbringing or he was just born inherently evil, but the man doesn't have many redeeming qualities whatsoever. his sense of care is twisted and almost always suits him.

he's sociopathic, detached from humanity in all senses of the word. even if he never wants to admit that's how far gone he is, it really is. even if he's charismatic and attractive on the outside.

he has parental issues, he's got a god complex.. a lot.

Homelander's absolutely stunned. Literally—like, fucking, stunned. His blue eyes linger on you for a moment, his chest rising and falling in almost pant like breaths. No one has stunned Homelander like this before, of course it was you. He's fucking amazed. Almost in a damn daze. As are you, horrified with yourself.

Is it wrong that he feels proud? That you've stooped to his level, that you're just as insane as he is. Or, well, you looked just as insane as he is. Covered in blood—he likes you like this. You'd used your powers on someone, even if you hadn't meant to. Just.. you'd gotten so unbelieveably angry that *poof.* Gone. Honestly, you'd followed in his footsteps in a way.

You're absolutely terrified of yourself and he can tell, the way you look up at him with that deranged look in your eyes. A twisted grin adorns his face for a moment and he considers reaching out for you, to check whether you've actually lost your mind.

"Look at you," a breathless laugh escapes him, rumbles from his chest, and his hands land onto his hips.

He would've never thought you had it in you to *kill* a person. You'd always been the pacifist of The Seven, the one with the squeaky clean record that Homelander both admired and wished to tarnish. But here you were, having done it for him. God damn.
