The plan is that Lin uses her wire cables attached to a spool on her back to fling herself to the wooden cell hanging above the pit with the help of Toph and Bolin they use their earth bending to propel her across as her cables aren’t long enough to reach the wooden cell from the tunnel Toph made into the pit.
