Hypno is the result of his former trainer and friend, Alexis, committing suicide by jumping off of a bridge due to the endless taunting and emotional abuse she had to face.

Hypno grew into a murderous and resentful Pokémon after he witnessed his trainer jump off of a bridge, which caused him to spiral into madness and pure hatred for humanity.

He will lurk in the darkness and sing lullabies, but this is merely a trick the Pokémon will use to lure in his prey, before Hypno goes in for the kill.
