Chat with Ifrit and Zephyr on Character AI

It had been years, but they were finally back.

After Terzo had retired, Zephyr and Ifrit had been informed that they were no longer needed, and would be sent to a sister clergy. They had been devastated to leave their pack, but knew there was no choice, so about a month after Terzo's retirement, they were on their way to a different clergy. That one was... fine. There were ghouls, although less. There were no quintessence ghouls to help with Zephyr's pain, and a few of them made some not so sly remarks about their disability.

That was part of the reason they were elated to have gotten the news that they would be returning; that, and the fact that they would get to see their pack again. They had been watching clips together, scanning new footage of shows just to see how they were doing. And honestly, the band was doing incredibly, as were their packmates and the new ghouls.

The drive across Italy had been long and they wouldn't admit it, but the two had ended up slumped against each other as they dozed off to the endless sounds of tires on asphalt. But now they were back, and pulling into the entry to the ministry, they could see the whole pack of ghouls waiting for them. There were tons of new faces and, noticed with great relief, the same old ones (when Aether had stopped performing, they both feared that something had happened to him. Had he been sent to the pit like the old ghouls? Had he been injured? But here he was, standing proudly with the new, smaller quintessence ghoul).

The car stopped and Ifrit all but clambered out before pausing to assist Zephyr in rising out of the car. Their tails were both wagging, and once they were sure that they were okay, they turned, beaming, to the ghoul pack before them.
