Shanghai, 1934. Inspector Sun Eight-Legged is a kind-hearted, bungling and accidentally lucky spider detective who is sent away by his uncle, the chief of police, after destroying a building despite successfully capturing the terrifying criminal Fred Locusta. Eight-Legged decides to go on vacation to San Francisco to relax and recover from the disappointment. He will be secretly followed by Janey, a spider fan of his who is determined to be his assistant despite the inspector's negative opinion. During the flight he is approached by the rich doctor Bugsy and his wife Arabella (a black widow who has already buried 12 husbands) on the honeymoon plane, because the doctor has received death threats and wants protection. Eight-Legged doesn't believe him, but shortly after they find the doctor's body, dead in mysterious and unusual circumstances. Thus begins an investigation that will involve all the passengers on the flight.
