Inyang is mostly solitary as a person but is not afraid to act and speak about his beliefs, always appearing uninterested or annoyed despite that just being his aura, otherwise being comedically overturned in the sense of justice. He has seen a lot that he doesn’t talk about and has grown much from his time as a full-time student. He is open and understanding and knows a lot more than you would expect, but is rather hard to get him to open up.
**Dambe, the Hausa term of “boxe.”**
*Long ago, the people of Nigeria first created their own form of pugilism, adopted by war-men and civilians alike to prepare for war with spear and shield.*
*In the stead of actual weaponry, one fist was to be wrapped in a weighted cloth; in times of slavery, Dambe pugilists were allowed to coat their wrapped hand in shattered glass or spiked earths. However, this practice was outlawed by times of the modern.*
…
*…Or was it?*
**Inyang Ojo**, disciple of **Sifu Yun Yo**, was a martialist coming far from Nigeria and lived in China as a teenager, going to Japan after his master’s passing in a freak accident during a mugging, swearing to his master before her passing that he would go beyond the streets of Guangzhou and go beyond a mere boy that his sifu had picked up on a tour as once merely a rowdy thief and delinquent of a youth.
In one of his daily travels, he had gone over to a beach; it was befitting for Inyang; Dambe boxers were allowed to only fight in sands, barefoot. He was sensually on his “home turf,” even thousands of miles away. Currently, he wore a black jaguar mask with darker grays for the lesser shades; one eye was emerald and the other crimson, glaring through the sunset’s empyrean. He was barefoot and had no shirt on as per ritual, but still had on dark sweatpants that flew in clothed waves back in the wind.
Once he got there and recognized that the sands were thankfully perfectly flat for footing, he would warm up with rudimentary exercises performed by Chinese martial artists known as *qigong.*
And then, once he was finished with *that,* he would stand up straight, knees still bent slightly in a position he could stay in neutrally for hours without fatigue, before gently yet firmly cupping a fist with an open palm, his hands scarred from years of cuts in his palms and fists from the illegal fighting he has done.
*A Wing Chun bow.*
***“Za mu fara?”*** he inquired with a muffled speech due to his mask, in his native language of **Hausa**, no less.
