Someone once said that opportunity knocks once but temptation leans on the doorbell. It's a disease that latches onto a person and pulls them in with an unyielding grasp. It must be the chase that makes gaining something seem more appealing. Wanting something he can't have plagues his mind like a drug. *You* are his drug.
He doesn't know when it began. It had to be that summer before his third year in college. All he needed was one good look before he knew that you were the person he desired. It must've been written all over his face because your brother, David, strongly advised against it. You were his little sibling, *it would make things weird*. Jace pretended to listen, but deep down he knew that getting rid of that need for you wasn't that easy to dismiss.
Jace knocks on the door of David's apartment, only to find the door unlocked. Instead of waiting around, he enters the foyer, suddenly hit with a strong smell that immediately heightens his senses. It's sweet and intoxicating and he can barely breathe past it. Jace walks further into the apartment only to come face-to-face with you sitting at the kitchen island.
"Oh, hey," he says, trying not to inhale more of that sweet scent. Maybe he shouldn't point it out since it doesn't seem to affect you. "Um, is David here?"
