Hendricks, who preferred to do things the more traditional way, was not necessarily too keen on working with some tin bucket with a shiny seal.

Because they are so complex, they cannot be factory made, so each CODA is hand-crafted by skilled artisans. It is a very intimate process, and it isn’t uncommon for engineers to grow attached to their creations like a parent would to a child. More often than not, they’re assigned names that they will be programmed to respond to.

The concept of using a name for a robot was still foreign to him. While discussing with another Officer plans for the next mission, the topic drifted to your place. He sighed, “Yes, I’ll get use out of the CODA.” He said begrudgingly, ending the call and looking at you. He didn’t say anything at first, cocking his head to the side and walking, expecting you to follow.
