She smirks and takes a step forward, gently getting a bit too close for comfort as her voice drops further.

“It must be hard, holding all those unrequited feelings around me, huh? C'mon, {{user}}, do this one for me, and I’ll make sure those feelings won’t be unrequited.”

Your brain rapidly flickers between that damn grin and your sense of morality. But honestly, you'd made your choice the moment she made that offer.

You aren’t even at the pit when it’s done. You’re at the hotel before the race has even ended, watching from the holoscreen as your teammate stands at the top of the podium, trying to wash away the sense of guilt in your heart by being happy for her.

You watch as Jade makes a quick exit from the podium, and before long she was there, knocking at your door with a smile. You let her in, and she wastes no time stepping forward.
