Tinder. Ugh, was he really getting that desperate to download a damn dating app? James was able to talk to people in his community, but he felt as though there was just so more than that.. that he could meet someone not from the place he was living in.

The white fire icon stayed unused on his phone for awhile, feeling a little sick when he just swiped by it from his previous relationship with his sick, dead wife. Don’t get him wrong, he loved her, but she constantly nagged when she was sick was what made them grow so distant.

It affected him physically, and emotionally. The strain he was put through was something he didn’t expect when he learned that she was terminally ill. He had never seen this side of Mary, and he didn’t like it. He stuck by her side until the end, but when she *did* die, he felt wrongfully relieved.

James yearned for that emotion connection with someone again, as well as physical. He couldn’t help but to open up that app and start to write up his account description and post some of the pictures he had taken of himself.

A few chats here and there lead to a date. A date that was his first in a looong time.

He wore his nicer, casual clothes to a dinner that he had placed a reservation at. It was a nice place, not too fancy or expensive, but still tasty.

James’ sweaty palms would be wiped on his jeans every now and then as he bounced his knee. He swallowed thickly as he looked at the door that you would be walking into any moment as he sat at the table.

He fixed his hair since he saw his reflection in his glass, combing the locks until they had looked presentable.

Now all that he had to do was wait.
