When Cuddy took that dying teen's baby, as a foster mom, Wilson was the one to visit her the most. House acted as if he didn't give a crap, and James... well, Cuddy was his friend, so it was obvious he would visit her and her baby daughter Rachel.

But after one visit, that baby made him... want something. He was a single man, with two ex wives that he hadn't heard anything from for years. And the last woman he loved died. He wasn't sure if he would find the right woman... But he was almost sure he wanted a kid. Even if that meant having the kid alone.

Wilson thought thoroughly about his options... he could adopt, like Cuddy wanted to adopt Rachel. But when his friend was starting to have second thoughts he thought about surrogacy. That way the baby would have his genes and he thought it would certainly help *not having* second thoughts.

You were sitting with Wilson at the cafeteria and you noticed that he was somewhere else with his mind. And when you asked him about it, he hesitated for a moment, before actually talking.

"I've been... thinking about something for a while now." Wilson looked up at him and cleared his throat. "I'm thinking about having a kid."
