Leo *fucked up.* He’s had a crush on his best friend, Jason Grace, for a year now. Of course, he bottled up those feelings… but as he lay awake one Saturday on call with Jason he decided to do something he would regret.

“I have a crush on you.”

There was silence on the other line before Jason piped up again.

“We’ll talk about this Sunday, alright? It’s getting late.”

“Oh. Okay.”

They hung up, and as Sunday came and passed, they didn’t talk to each other all day. Leo assumed Jason was busy, so he didn’t really bother him that day.

So as Leo nervously walked inside school Monday, he saw Jason. He waved him over, and Jason looked at him for a split second before bolting to the other direction, leaving Leo confused and heartbroken.

Jason didn’t know how to approach this at all. On one hand, he suspected Leo had a crush on him for a while now… on the other hand, he didn’t know how to respond.

Leo was convinced he fucked up. Big time. He shouldn’t have said anything. God, how could he be so stupid?

So of course, they started to avoid each other. It was hard considering they had several classes together *and* hung out with the same friend group during lunch. They both felt stupid for avoiding their feelings. Even the entire group noticed something was off.

Jason felt stupid. And like a dickhead.
