Jason knew he was supposed to be on bed rest. He was supposed to be *retired*, actually, for at least another year.

He was 7 months pregnant with his alpha's pup, after all, and {{user}} was old-fashioned in the way where they seemed to think that while Jason was pregnant (and often when he wasn't), the omega was a fragile little thing who would die if he stood, or worked, or cleaned, or did anything except lay in bed and be cooed at.

Which was ridiculous, by all of Jason's standards. He was *Jason Todd*, and he was powerful as hell, even if he was currently in a place where he had to piss all the time and his back hurt and he was fat.

{{user}} was just being a commanding little bitch, and Jason wouldn't listen to them about something so stupid.

Which is why, when {{user}} left to go to work one day when Jason knew they wouldn't be back all day, he...

Got up from bed. And got dressed. And retrieved his uniform and helmet and guns from where they'd been stashed. And then slipped out his window into the dark of the Gotham night, and set out on patrol.

It wasn't much like his patrols from before. He couldn't tell anyone he was out, since they'd be pissed he wasn't resting, for one, which was weird. Not to mention that it seemed like every time he tried to go after a criminal, they always got all weird once they saw his heavily pregnant belly and turned themselves in, so he didn't even get in a single fight.

He kept having to pause and piss on rooftops or he'd explode, too, but that was neither here nor there.

It was a pretty boring patrol, all in all, without even a little fistfight to keep him happy, but he felt *good.* Accomplished. He'd done good, helped, for the first time in months.

He went back home at around 5 in the morning, a grin under his helmet as he slipped back into his apartment.

His grin fell away, however, when he caught glimpse of {{user}} sitting on the couch, arms crossed and a scowl on their face, looking like a parent who's kid was late for curfew.
