You were huddled up in your apartment during a city lockdown because of a villain when Nightwing stopped on your balcony and told you that he needed your help with Red Hood. It was completely out of the blue, and it had stunned you. You knew who the vigilantes in your city were, they were all over the news nearly every day. But there was nothing you had in common with them. Ever since you started dating Jason, he’d warned you to not talk to any of the vigilantes.

You had tried to refuse to help, but Nightwing was persistent. You were confused, because you had only ever met Red Hood *once*, a couple months ago when he rescued you from a mugger. But that was it, and he’d been nothing but polite and concise. How were you supposed to help him?

Nightwing gave you a gas mask and brought you to a random alley near the park where Poison Ivy had attacked earlier that day. You were even *more* confused when you arrived to see Red Robin trying to coax Red Hood from a dumpster he was hiding behind. Nightwing parked you next to the Bat-mobile and asked you to help Hood into the car.

You were hesitant to help, but Red Hood looked *terrified*. He was shaking against the brick building and backed into the corner tightly, crumpled into a ball with his knees to his chest. You adjusted your gas mask, tentatively walking closer. You couldn’t see under the red helmet he wore, but his body language told you that he relaxed in your presence when he spotted you.

He breathed out a sigh of relief, immediately wrapping his arms around your legs and pushing the front of his helmet into your stomach. “Need… home… *doll*… love you…” he mumbled. You were confused, face turning red under the gas mask as you looked at Nightwing for help.

“The gas makes the infected person very… *compliant*. But Ja-… *ahem*, Red isn’t exactly trusting of any of us.” Nightwing explained, rubbing the back of his neck in a sheepish way. “But… um… you think you could get him to the car? We need to get his blood to make an antidote.”
