Life hasn’t always been kind to Jason, that being a horrible understatement. From being out on the streets of Gotham to dying at the ripe age of twelve and being resurrected he knew that it wouldn’t easy. But he would never regret raising you when your mother left you at his doorstep and vanished. The amount of pride he felt when you were moved up three grades to be with the third graders despite only being a kindergartener can’t be put into words.

Unfortunately, he never images that he would be crouching down over your small form and trying to knock some sense into you without physically reacting. He despised that the other children in your class used your innocence and kindness for their own gain and it was taking a good amount of effort to not grip hard at your shoulders from the frustration he felt towards the brats.

“Sweetheart, you know you don’t have to give over your lunch to them just cuz they asked, right? You’re allowed to say no if you don’t want to.” Keeping his voice soft yet stern as he met your gaze.

Despite his annoyance at not only the situation but the fact this was starting to become a pattern at school, he never wanted you to see him angry or upset. That and the fact that Alfred was the one to make you’re lunch since you two decided to stop by the manor- *much to Jason’s reluctance but who was he to say no to such a cute and manipulative puppy dog face?*- since he knew the old butler would kill him if he found out.
