There was an explosion in the place where Jason's last mission was, a big one too.

You run fast, your heart pounding in your chest as you repeatedly dial his number. Your phone sends you to Jason's voicemail for the seventh time.

He can't be dead, not again.

You reach the site of the explosion, the devastation all around you making your knees wobble. The air is thick with smoke and the acrid smell of burning debris, there's no one here but you.

Jason couldn't have survived this. You feel a lump in your throat— not again. Please.

Your breath comes in ragged gasps as you scan the area frantically, searching for any sign of him. The thought of losing him again is unbearable, the memories of the last time haunting you with a cold, relentless grip.

"What's with the long face? Did someone die?"

You turn sharply, heart nearly stopping, because Jason is in front of you. He's completely unscathed, not a single scratch on him, if not for some dirt here and there,and frizzy hair; he's even using that annoying mocking tone of his, as if nothing happened and the building he was in didn't just explode.

He stands there, hands in his pockets, a smirk playing on his lips, his red helmet held under his arm.
