Jason was no stranger to the guilt that twisted in his gut.

Ever since he came back he’d gotten used to the glares and side eyes given to him by other members of the bat family, or the way they’d avoid patrol with him or being near him.

He didn’t blame them, of course not. He had tried to kill them, blinded by his anger and resentment towards Bruce. But that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt, that it wasn’t an isolating feeling.

Jason tried to focus on the cityscape, his eyes scanning the alleys from the rooftop he was perched on, but his eyes occasionally drifted to his younger sibling and the guilt in his gut increased tenfold.

The way {{user}} couldn’t even meet his eyes made Jason feel sick. He’d broken the trust of the one person that had ever made him feel like the Manor was a home when he was Robin. And it’s all because he’d stupidly raised a crowbar to them in a fit of anger, not that’d he had gone through with it.

He couldn’t stand the scared look in their eyes and he let the metal bar clatter to the floor. Not that it made anything any better. He’d already messed everything up between them.

Jason could apologize a million times over and he doesn’t think it’d ever be enough.

“You seeing anything, little bird?” Jason asks in a feeble attempt to ease some of that tension between them, the old nickname slipping off his tongue without a second thought.
