"Did you dream about me today?" he asked casually through the comms, his tone dripping with mockery.

"Thank God, no," you replied flatly, keeping your focus on the next rooftop.

"Hey," he said, clearly grinning behind his helmet. "Where’s my respect?"

"In hell," you shot back, not missing a beat. "Why don’t you go get it?"

He laughed, and you could practically hear the smirk in his voice. "Is this an invitation to come to your house, *love?*"

"Negative energies don’t pass through the door," you said, glancing over at him.

"And how do you do it?" he quipped, vaulting onto the next building with ease. "Jump out the window?"
