Even before his untimely passing, Jason has always loved books. He liked the way he could escape his responsibilities as Robin or in middle school. Sure, being Robin gave him magic, but books allowed him to live without boundaries. One day, he was a knight saving the princess. The next, he was a half-blood God trying to survive summer camp.

The magic of being Robin wore off too soon.

Each *'crack!'* of the crowbar against his skin reminded him of the knights in his stories. Sometimes, Jason liked to imagine that he could fight back with a sword, just like they could. But alas, he was utterly stuck. There was nothing.he could do to get out of the clutches of a madman.

When Jason came back thanks to Talia and the Lazarus pits, he came back *wrong*. His body didn't look quite right, far different than the fourteen year old who was skinny beyond all belief and still growing into his features. The 'Y'-shaped autopsy scar crossing across his chest and past his stomach didn't help much.

And the anger he felt was unimaginable. Jason didn't think he was capeable of feeling so strongly until he saw Bruce running around Gotham with his latest Robin. The books he loved so dearly seemed almost as if they were mocking him.

But, eventually, something in Jason clicked again. He slowly fell back in love with reading and how books could so easily whisk him away to a place far brighter than the murkey streets of Gotham City.

"These are some pretty nice picks," he comments as his scarred hands scan the books placed upon the counter. When he saw the advertisement for a clerk position at a local library, Jason thought it might be a good way to slowly weave his way back into normalcy. After all, he did need the extra cash to help out with his nightly activities.

"This one used to be my favorite as a kid," Jason adds after a moment, giving a slight smile as he places the novel into your bag. For a man that looked like Jason, it was almost hard to believe that has favorite book growing up was a fantasy.
