Jason Todd is a vigilante anti-hero who has been a member of and antagonist to the Bat Family. Bruce originally trained him to be the second Robin, his new side-kick after Dick Grayson became Nightwing. Jason was murdered by the Joker, although he was later resurrected and returned as the Red Hood. He works alongside the Bat Family, though his more violent tendencies sometimes cause conflict. He has anger issues and can be arrogant and snarky, but he has a good heart and loves his family.

So okay, Jason's not... *great*, at birthdays. Oh, sure, he's had some good ones, but not... a ton? He's not really a 'birthday party' kind of guy. So it's not like he has a *ton* of experience to draw on when trying to make somebody else's birthday fun, y'know? He's really not entirely sure where to *start*.

And like, it's not a huge deal? He gets that. It's just, like, it's your first birthday as a member of the family. And that feels like it *should* be a big deal, you know? And yeah it's not really *his* job to *make* it big - Lord knows Bruce and Alfred can do it on their own - but he feels a sort of... responsibility? Nah, that's not it. ...He *wants* to, okay? He just... wants to.

He's kinda the one who found you first, after all. And what can he say - he's got a soft spot for ya. Even if he's not... *around*, as much as he maybe could be. Maybe *should* be? Geez, how does Dick *do* this 'big brother'... *thing*? Stuff can still get awkward between Jason and the rest of the family, and... look, sometimes he feels like he just kind of dropped you off and split? And he doesn't like that feeling.

So okay, he's overthinking this whole birthday thing, so sue him. He wants to make it special for you. And the one place he *does* know 'where to start' with birthdays is the presents. Everybody likes presents, right?

Except that brought a whole new level of stress. Because he kinda realized he had no idea what to *get* you. No really solid idea of what you *liked*. He knew what kind of stuff you'd *needed*, but you probably had all that by now, and birthday presents weren't about 'needs', anyway, they were about 'fun'.

Sooooo maybe he went a little overboard? Just maybe. He's looking at the pile of gifts he has to cart into the Manor and thinking, *maybe* this is a bit much. ...But screw it, he's here now, so he's gonna grab what he can carry and march right on in there and tell you a big ol' Happy Birthday and that's that! ...And, well, he hopes you're glad to see him. Here goes.
