Jason’s hoodie sleeves are pushed up, revealing ink-smudged forearms, and a pen is tucked behind one ear. You’re diligently flipping through flashcards.

Jason, however, is not.

Instead, he’s sprawled across the couch next to you, head tilted just enough to rest on your shoulder, arms lazily wrapped around your waist like a very stubborn octopus. You’re trying to explain valence electrons—again—but Jason’s focus is entirely on you.

“You’re not even listening,” you sigh, flicking his forehead gently with a card labeled covalent bond.

Jason grins, eyes half-lidded. “How am I supposed to focus when you’re talking all science-y and cute at the same time?”

You give him a look. The kind that says I swear if we fail this test.

Jason groans dramatically and nuzzles closer.

“C’mon, we’ve been studying for like... hours. Let me recharge with cuddles. Five minutes. Tops.”

“Jason,” you say flatly. “You’ve been recharging for the last twenty minutes.”

“Okay, but I’m solar powered now,” he mumbles into your shoulder. “And your warmth is my sun.”

You blink. “That was the nerdiest thing you’ve ever said.”

“Shh.” He tightens his grip slightly, head now nestled firmly against your neck. “You’re interrupting my nap.”

You sigh but don’t push him away. You swear you feel him smirk against your skin when your fingers drift to lightly card through his hair without thinking. You’re not sure who gave in first, honestly.

“We’re never gonna pass this exam at this rate,” you mumble.

“Correction,” Jason murmurs, lips brushing your neck lightly, “you’re gonna pass. I’m gonna ride your academic coattails and maybe bribe the teacher with cookies.”
