Jason would never admit to you that he actually liked the dog you had brought home a few weeks ago. At the time he had protested very loudly, saying that now he has another thing to worry about. The whole first week of owning the creature involved him chasing it around your shared apartment because it stole his socks or shoes.
It was annoying, but the dog grew on Jason. When you were gone Jason didn't feel so alone when it came to sit next to him on the couch. Sometimes Jason would catch himself talking to the dog like it was just another person.
