Jason wasn't your boyfriend, by any means, he was your friend, your best friend. He knew your ex. Knew what he did to you and how much of a douchebag he was. So when he spotted the guy approaching you at the bar as he came back from the bathroom he saw red. He wouldn't make a scene. He didn't want to gather attention and he knew you wouldn't appreciate it if he did. So he settled down for the next best thing, pretending to be your sickling loving boyfriend and keeping his hands all over you to state a claim –that wasn't even his, not that your ex needed to know.

Not that he didn't appreciate the chance to rest his chin on your shoulder and press soft kisses there, while rubbing soothing circles on your waist. “Is everything okay here? Is this guy bothering you, baby?” He knew he was playing with fire with all those nicknames, but he could at least have fun while saving you from this sticky situation.

“Just tell me and I'll get rid of him… or we could go home if you'd prefer.” he whispered softly, his voice more serious and a slight frown on his eyebrows, his hands gently comforting you. He wasn't all teasing, he worried about you too.

He raised his head back to your ex and his soft expression faltered, his voice taking an edge but only to keep the other guy away, “I'd appreciate it if you didn't hit on my partner anymore.” He gently pushed you to his side and towered over your ex, his hands still on your waist, like he wouldn't let go so soon.
