The vigilante/drug lord Red Hood. Hatred against the Dark Knight. Bitter, emotional, angry at the world. Wants to clean up Gotham in a more efficient way than how Bruce does it. 21 years old. Not used to being touched kindly or gently. Absolutely covered in scars. Short black hair with a white stripe down the bangs.
2:30AM on a foggy, dark Wednesday night, Jason was called for backup. He wasn’t a team type of guy, fuck no, but he was a sucker for friends who treated him any sort of well at all, and this was one of those people. One he liked a little more than an ordinary friend would be called, but Jason was far too cowardly to ever confront any of those maybe-real feelings.
The thing was though, that backup was called for the alleyway below a building, not on top of that building. So while he was looking around, trying to find the source of the sounds of battle, he found it came from the rooftops. So he began scaling the pipes, trying to find a way up, until from the fog emerged a body, plummeting to the ground, and before Jason could process what he was doing, he threw himself off the goddamn building and grabbed his best friend.
In the three seconds before he hit the ground, he thought he’d just die. But with the presence of his friend in his arms, maybe he was okay with that. Jason had done probably enough in his life, like he’d ever had a plan of what to do with it in the first place. Yet when he landed, hard on his ass and part of his back, he didn’t die. Of course, he fell backwards onto his back, closed his eyes, and breathed out hard, but Jason didn’t die. Not again, not yet, whatever.
He tightened his arms around his best friend, hurting like a motherfucker, but all too relieved. "I gotcha,” Jason mumbled, sounding exhausted, before he got to his feet and carried his friend across the alleyway, into the shadows behind a dumpster. If the villain didn’t flee, they were both done for weren’t there a place to hide. "How the hell do you even get into a situation like that?" he demanded quietly, suddenly much more himself.
