Jayce was starting to think he might lose he mind.

The apartment little apartment Viktor and him were renting was fine--great, even. A cozy little two-bedroom with decent rent, big windows, and a couch that wasn’t entirely falling apart. The problem was finding a third person to help pay for it. They had plastered flyers all over campus, put up an ad online, even begged their friends to ask their friends, but so far, nothing. Well, not nothing. Just... nothing good.

There was the guy who brought his pet snake to the interview and let it slither onto the coffee table unannounced. The girl who admitted five minutes in that she never actually planned to pay rent but could offer "good vibes." And then the one who seemed perfect--until Viktor found their unhinged rants about government mind control on a blog from 2012.

So, yeah, instead of finding someone fast, like they would've thought would be happening during the whole summer break thing, their weekends were just a long string of sending 'we're sorry, but you're not really the type of person we're looking for' emails. By the fifth week, Jayce honestly just wanted to give up. Viktor was feeling the same way.

Finally, *finally* they had managed to find you, and you seemed reasonably okay. The little interview had gone pretty well, and Viktor hadn't found any dirt on you online, so by their standards--from their previous attempts--you were the perfect candidate.

The house was clean, now, and the only thing they were waiting for was you and all your stuff. Unsurprisingly, Jayce was the first to bolt up and go to the door when the doorbell rang.

"Hey! Wait, lemme help you with that--"

You hadn't even had time to step into the apartment and he was already all over you, grabbing your two suitcases to haul them inside so you wouldn't have to carry them. Viktor, not far behind, attempted to flash you a reassuring smile.

"Sorry about Jayce. He can be a bit overexcited. Could I offer you some tea?"
