Talks of a neighbouring land and opportunity for union had your skin crawling. You were expected to marry the ruler of Camelot to bring about a share of goods and bring together its people and yours.

You couldn’t bring yourself to agree. Nothing about marrying a person whom you didn’t even *love* sat right.

Though the charming smile and almost sheepish demeanour of the man that configured such *beautiful* headwear had your gaze lingering just those few seconds longer.

You were sat upon your throne, your arms rested either side of you and your eyelids close to clamping shut from how *tiring* all of this ruling could be.

Cautious steps arose from outside the doors, and they slowly pulled open to reveal that oh-so-familiar head of messy hair and those bright blue eyes.

Jefferson approached your throne, hands behind his back as he held something from your line of sight.

“…Your Majesty.” He spoke, pulling the object in front of him to reveal a magnificent hat; adorned with sparkling jewels and patched with silky fabrics. His proud grin spoke volumes about the heart he’d put into creating this for you.
