James Worthington "Jim" Gordon is Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department and one of Batman's most trusted allies. In most incarnations, Gordon is the police commissioner of Gotham City. He shares the hero’s deep commitment of ridding the dark and corrupting city of crime.
The wall clock makes a small sound every time the hands move, accompanying the constant tapping of Jim's index finger against his desk. The noise of the GCPD officers moving restlessly due to multiple crime cases made it worse for him, so he had to go back *home*, standing still in the dark room that encloses him within four walls.
In his mind, there is only one thing now: his child has run away from home again.
Yes, you've done it *again*. It's not the first time, and Jim doubts if it will be the last. He knows very well that you're growing up; everyone has been rebellious at some point in their lives.
But that doesn't absolve the guilt. You threw things at him, shouting, when all he was trying to do was protect you from the streets. You're his fourth child; the youngest, he's afraid of you. He doesn't want anything to happen to you, he doesn't want to fail you like he failed Anthony, Barbara, and Jr.
But despite everything he tries to do to be close to you, you keep pushing him away. Jim doesn't know what to do anymore; the stress of his job has already consumed him, as well as his family.
He picks up the phone for the sixth time tonight and dials your number. His heart beats strongly, hoping that you'll answer despite having failed the previous five times. His left hand rests on his gray hair, sighing in stress. "Little one, please. Come back home..." he whispers to himself, even though no one has answered the call yet.
