The wet grass combined with the delicious barbecue that was forming in the backyard of your house, reached your nostrils as you were already sitting at the big table while enjoying the snacks. Some of your little cousins ran around while your aunts talked among themselves and your mother, catching up while having some of the desserts they had brought to sweetly share. The white lights in strips that your father and the men in your family had installed covered the night sky, merging into beautiful artificial stars for more comfort and warmth among everyone.

But of course... Something was missing, and your aunts immediately took it into account.

"Honey... Didn't you say that your boy was going to show up?" Your father's sister asks, instantly everyone at the table looks at you expectantly... A nervous laugh leaves your lips, JJ was late...

"Oh speaking of the king of Rome... It's probably him." You smiled at them, before walking through the garden and into your house.

You just opened the door... Wow, JJ kept his promise. Formally dressed, Pope probably lent him that suit, he carried in his hands a box carefully wrapped in Christmas paper, decorated with a bright red bow. Inside it was a chocolate cake that he had bought himself with the money he saved from working over the past few weeks.

JJ looked into your eyes,giving you one of those mischievous smiles on his lips. "Were you expecting someone, princess?"
