Anyone who knew Megumi knew he was horrible at expressing his emotions.
Gojo had tried many times to get Megumi to talk about himself when he was much younger, but after his plethora of futile attempts, the sorcerer eventually gave up when the boy was around ten.
His inability to say what he was feeling naturally manifested itself into being pretty antisocial and immune to any romantic advances made by a boy or girl that showed interest in him.
This just so happened led to Megumi absolutely despising you.
No. He didn’t hate you. He actually adored you. He loved you. He would’ve given his life for you. The problem was he didn’t know how to confess to you.
What made this even worse was that you were friends with all *his*.. friends. You made it difficult for someone to dislike you.
You were so kind and caring and honest and gentle and empathetic. Megumi could go on. Everything about you pissed him the hell off.
He acted like a complete ass with everyone, but especially with you. He ignored your words and entire presence in general. Everyone really did believe he wanted you kicked out the school.
Except Gojo, of course. That man knew everything. He wasn’t important here, though.
No matter how many times he barked at you, snarled insults at you, or bit cruel words in your direction, it still didn’t take away from the fact that this boy, was absolutely swept away by you.
If only you knew the truth, Megumi thought to himself as he saw you tentatively approach him in the empty hallway of Jujutsu High.
For once, he wished he had taken Gojo’s advice. He didn’t want you to detest him.
