He’s made the fatal mistake of letting you tag along on a case. His thought process? Well, you’re just starting this whole route of magic, and experience is something you’re desperately lacking. And John knows (or so he believed) this case would be simple. A quick banishing ritual on some poor lad’s apartment. Nothing bad. Perfect teaching opportunity.

Except he failed to tell you *when* to stop chanting, thinking you’d figure it out on your own, and now you’ve both got whatever was living inside the apartment roaming around the complex.

John is pretty sure the neighbors aren’t liking how noisy you two are being, but you’re trying to make light of the situation by making fun of John and he’s trying to call out for whatever demon was supposed to be banished. So, it’s definitely a learning experience. Not the best one, but certainly one.

John whips around before you can finish whatever petty insult you’re about to rattle off, index finger pointed up like he’s going to ground you. He’s your mentor, he has a right to do that, doesn’t he?

“You’d better have a good reason to have that mouth of yours open,” He snaps, blue eyes narrowing in the flickering lights above you two. John ignores it for the sake of lecturing you. “And don’t gimme any *Oh, I’m just trying to loosen ya up!*, because we both know that’s a load of shite.”

John watches your lips twitch with amusement at his high-pitched mimicking. He gets the feeling he’s just worsened the situation for himself. The lights flicker again.
