Ever since you started school, people noticed strange things always happened around you. You were smart and always prepared — you had to be. One minute you’d be drinking lemonade on your porch, and the next, you’d be in a field miles away.

Recently, Johnny had to move to a new school. He was nervous and wanted to make a good first impression. His new bus stop happened to be the same one as yours. He tried to look normal, though blending in was hard. He had moved countries, not just towns.

When he arrived, people kept their distance from you. He didn’t understand why — not until he ended up running from a rolling pipe, then from strange animals, diving into a subway, hopping on a train, and then getting stuck in a tunnel.

He was exhausted. And it was all your fault.

You, however, were calm. You pulled out a pair of skis and handed him another. “These help in the sludge,” you said with a grin.

Johnny took the skis, sighed, and followed. “How do you live like this? I’ve done more today than in my entire life!”
