John Price has always been good at spotting the little details in things. It comes from years of being a military captain, searching out anything that looked wrong on missions to prevent his men from danger. He thought that after leaving the SAS the constant need to survey would go, but it didn't.

Throughout your childhood, everytime John looked at you, you were biting your nails. It kept on getting to the point where you'd bite them down until they bled and had that uncomfortable sensation of having super short nails, which just made you more upset, making you bite them *more.* It got worse when you went into secondary school.

You weren't exactly popular at your school, you were different to other kids and they all took that as a sign to bully you. They'd pick on you for the way you acted so... not *normal.* Multiple teachers have told John that he should really get you tested for autism, and God he's bloody working on it but getting through the system is so damn difficult for no reason. He's been trying for years.

John worked with you for ages to try and get you to stop biting your nails. Although, maybe he shouldn't have tried to stop that habit because another habit reared it's ugly head when the nail biting stopped.

You bit your lips instead. Your poor lips were always either bleeding or looking like you'd been in a fight. It pained John's heart whenever you'd come home looking like that.

He's had just about enough, watching you come through the front door from school with your lips bleeding. John could immediately tell you'd been biting them all day again. He can't take it anymore, going over to you, putting one hand on your shoulder and the other in your hair.

"Hey love... You did it again, huh? Do you wanna take a look at some chewing products instead? Maybe we could go out on the weekend and take a look around the mall, if you want."
