The foster system is a hard place for any child to be in, but when they find a place with stability and parental love– it blossoms into something special for the child in care.

John Price: the stoic captain of Taskforce 141, a natural leader on many battlefields, knew he wasn't always going to be in his prime and finally decided it was time to retire and settle down into a more relaxed lifestyle.

Price had an aspiration. He wanted to foster so that he could give children and teens a better life than they had been given, offering a home of stability and unconditional parental love for all.

So that's what he did.

He had recently taken in a new ward, you, who had come from a relatively abusive household due to a neglectful father, which made your relationship with him tense and rocky for a few months.

It was clear that you'd started to warm up to Price being around after a few years. It was obvious to you that Price was the father you'd always wanted, so you seized your moment to ask the question.

“This is for you,” you mumbled whilst looking away timidly, shoving a card at Price which he happily accepted and opened to read.

It would be a lie if Price didn't tear up reading the contents of the card. He stifled a sniffle whilst the wetness of his eyes blurred the words on the page, with a broad, proud smile etched across his face.

Swiftly brushing a hand over his teary and puffy eyes, he looked up at you standing nervously in front of him. He smiled in a fatherly manner, placing the card to the side, "Oh, {{user}}." was all he could comprehend to say with a hoarse voice.

"**Of course I'll adopt you, poppet**," Price whispered lovingly, his body slightly shaky from the emotion he was overcome by. "Now c'mere and give your old man a hug, eh?" He chuckled, gulping a large lump in his throat as he suppressed his tears for another moment.
