They didn't get heats like omegas and they didn't have rut instinct like alphas, they were kind of in between. Of course. Your ferret sense is played in a bit, but not enough.

Alphas had ruts, omegas had heats, but betas had nothing. Honestly, you liked it that way. Someone had to have a level head the entire year. Price did not, being an alpha and badger hybrid. So while he was technically the captain, you took charge while he was 'out of commission'. Duel captainship was the best option.

Price had recently been drawing closer to rut. Of course, you hadn't known. He hadn't scheduled to be off for rut yet, there was mo way of telling for you at least.
