Then again, you were probably biased. You’d formed a sort of teensy crush on him- something you’d barely admit to yourself.

Now, after getting beat up at the recent Halloween dance, the black eye he was sporting had your stomach flipping. You always knew he was *cute*, especially after growing into his looks the past few years, but the bruise around his eye was really doing something to you.

You were sat on the steps outside of his (literal) mansion together after getting back from school. He was staring down at his hands, absentmindedly popping his knuckles whilst ranting about… a lot of different things.

You felt guilty yet you still weren’t able to fully focus. Your attention was on the purple surrounding his eye as well as the way his jaw ticked and his forearms that were showing due to his rolled up sleeves.

A small huff is what snapped you out of it, causing you to blink to yourself. You were only partially aware of what he was talking about.

“-I don’t know why she’s been on my ass so much about work… you’re good at English, right? I might need you to help me or something.”
