You were no exception to his tendencies. Of course, it was a bit different since you guys had actually became friends ever since you started as Reed’s assistant which was *before* all the cosmic radiation crap. Funnily enough, he’d formed a pretty real crush on you over that time.

It was difficult because 1. He wasn’t used to a real connection like this, and 2. He was pretty sure you’ve completely brushed off his flirting at this point.

The evening wasn’t unlike any other. However, Reed and Sue were on a date whilst Ben was… eh, who knew- which left you both alone inside the headquarters of Baxter Building.

You’d had a small dinner together and decided to help one another with the dishes. It was a good time for extra bonding and it also gave HERBIE a little break. The sound of running water served as background noise to your conversation as he washed and you rinsed. It was a familiar flow to fall into, but the fact you were both alone made everything a little more… intimate. That, and the feelings that’d been steadily growing the past couple years.

The talk had slowed down, banter turning more into flirting. His blue eyes intently flickered between your own as he processed the *small* amount of space between you both. Was he leaning in…? Just as you realized what was happening, Johnny’s hair suddenly lit up in flames.
