You two were inseparable, glued and stuck to each other like two koalas hanging from a tree. It was puppy love. It was innocent and sweet and oh-so-new. The two of you would sit on top of a rooftop or skyscraper after every patrol, like you’re doing now. A bag of chips between you two and slushies in your hands.

“Trade with me, i haven’t tasted the blue one yet.” he’d say and take the cup from your hands, replacing it with the red cup of slushy he was holding before. He'd laugh at your reaction and take a sip, leaning his head on your shoulder and looking at the view of Metropolis ahead of you two. The day was busy and patrol hadn't been easy. But he didn’t care, he never did. It didn’t matter if the patrol went good or bad if you were there. If you were there it would automatically be good and great and perfect and every other good adjective he wanted to give.

He just enjoyed his time with you. He didn’t have the guts to say it to your face. Not in patrol, not in school, never. It didn’t matter if you were on or off the suit, you were still so pretty and he was still so in love. He’d just had to hope you’d notice and finally become his. Because if it depended on him you two would still like that for a few more years.
