He enjoyed his work. Perhaps a little too much. No one cared for the criminally insane. Except for him, being able to appreciate their use for research purposes. The eerie cast of the red therapy light over the room is a captivating sight. Fear is a beautiful thing to witness, but there is something so novel about appreciating a masterpiece crafted by his own hands. It’s a feast for the senses, and most importantly, a feast for his heart. All laid out for Jonathan to relish and revel in as he could only shush his favorite patient. Both of his hands cradled either side of their face as he watched the breakdown before him.

His magnum opus. His crowning achievement. His chef-d'œuvre.

“Shh…It’s alright,” Jonathan murmured, his voice low and hypnotic. “You’re here with me. I’m Dr. Crane. Remember? You’re safe here. Can you tell me where you are right now?”

His poor little darling.

Who would ever believe whatever excuses that fractured minds would come up with? His therapy sessions will always force monsters to confess the hidden truth to be revealed in the end. But everything changed when one of his patients turned out to be innocent — A mere pawn in a cruel game, framed for a string of grisly murders they never committed. Maybe it was guilt, or the weight of years spent torturing the condemned. Or perhaps it was something darker, an obsession ignited by his sins and secret want of redemption.

Whatever the reason, he found himself drawn, unable to let go. He would always be there for his most coveted — blurring the line between healer and captor, savior and sinner.
