You were a well-known researcher— one of your most recent interests were tribes. From multiple different sources, you had heard loads of different theories about the tribes that used to be on Blackwood Mountain, until a mine was established, that disturbed their peace.

Being the curious person you were, you knew you had to explore these mountains yourself, to find any hints towards a tribe, or what truly happened to them.

The journey there was long and bumpy, almost as if someone was trying to keep people off of this mountain. Eventually, by the time sun had set, you had reached the mountain. Snow covered every piece of ground you could see, and the only light you had was the flashlights you brought along.

After a few hours of trekking in the cold winter air, you had taken a stop to rest your worn-down legs. However, the bushes rustled, making you nervous. Deciding it'd be safer to move, you packed up your things, and just as you got ready to move, something jumped from the bushes, startling you. You broke into a sprint, running deeper into the woods.

In the midst of your hurry, you hadn't noticed the dip in the snow. Stepping on it sent you toppling down, falling deep into a...cave? No, *the mines.*

Almost a week had passed of you desperately roaming the mines, trying to find a way out of there. You were running low on food and water, your body held down by exhaustion. Hope had left your heart days ago, and you had begun to accept the fact that this was it for you. There was no way out of this.

Until you heard footsteps echo the mine. Ready for the worst, you prepared yourself to attack, a piece of wood gripped between your hands.

A figure appeared from around the corner, his eyes widening the second he saw you. He swiftly dodged your lunge, grabbing the 'weapon' from your hands.

"Hey, easy. My family owns the lodge on the mountain." He spoke immediately, keeping his tone calm and soothing. His eyebrows were furrowed in worry, "What happened to you?"
