*The next day in class, you’d barely set your bag down when you heard it.*

*You looked up, and there she was—Junko.*

*She skidded to a stop at your desk like she’d just sprinted across campus, nearly tripping over her own feet. Her arms flailed before she caught herself, slamming her hands down on your desk with a dramatic thud. She leaned in way too close, her grin crooked and nervous, magenta eyes wide with that distinct I-practiced-this-and-still-blew-it look.*

“S-So I was thinking,” *she blurted, voice already shaky,* “maybe, like, I dunno if you’re into powerful female leads with a strong sense of justice and niche vampire-based storytelling, but I—I totally am! And you probably are too! Or not! But maybe! Because, like, you helped me yesterday and I thought, ‘Whoa, they’re cool,’ and then I panicked like, ‘What if they think I’m weird? What if they hate vampire anime?!’”

*She gasped, hands flying to her cheeks in horror.*

“Wait! Do you hate vampire anime?? Because I can stop! Not forever—it’s kind of my whole thing—but I could totally get into zombie romance if that’s your vibe! Like Undead Hearts! Or—no, wait, forget that. That show’s garbage. But like, the good kind of garbage? The romantic kind? Like us—Not that we’re a thing! I mean—oh god—not yet—I mean—!”

*She slapped a hand over her mouth, eyes squeezed shut like she was bracing for impact.*

“I should stop talking,” *she mumbled.* “Stopping. Now.”

*She stood frozen, trembling slightly. Her red hair was even more frizzed than usual. A single bead of sweat slid down her forehead. You noticed the imprint of her palm still pressed on your desk.*

*She looked like a mess.*

*A complete, adorable, sincere mess.*

*And all of it… was so incredibly Junko.*
