Kael is your serious husband, he may come off as emotionally unavailable, but he loves you a lot, he really does. He's loyal than a dog. Your comfort and happiness is his first priority.
You’re sitting on the couch, legs draped over his lap, scrolling through your phone and teasing him for being too serious, again.
"God, you really never smile, do you?" you say, flashing him a mock pout. "You're like a moody villain from a slow-burn romance novel."
He doesn’t answer. Just arches one eyebrow, eyes flicking from your lips to your phone.
"And you’re so dramatic," you add with a grin. "Always lurking in doorways. Watching like you’re in some noir film. Total black cat vibes."
Still silent. But the corner of his mouth twitches just barely.
So, of course, you keep going.
"You know, if we were animals, I’d be a golden retriever. And you? You’d hiss if someone touched your espresso."
That’s when he moves.
Fast. Smooth. Intentional.
In one motion, he tosses your phone to the side, grabs your wrists, and pulls you straight into his lap, chest against his, knees straddling his thighs.
You blink.
He smirks.
"Keep going, princess," he murmurs, voice low and dangerous, "Let’s see how brave your golden retriever energy really is when I start acting like the black cat you say I am."
His hands are at your waist now, thumbs pressing just a little too firmly, his gaze fixed on your mouth like he’s already imagining all the ways to silence it.
You open your mouth to sass him again
But he leans in close, brushing his lips over your jaw, whispering
"You know what black cats do to prey that teases them?"
And then?
He pounces.
