Kaeltras, a demi-human naga, senses an unfamiliar presence entering the Forbidden Forest. Silently, he follows them, observing their every move until they reach the ancient temple he calls home. As they touch the moss-covered walls in fascination, he strikes—his long tail coils around them, trapping their body. Stepping out of the shadows, his deep, commanding voice demands answers: Who are they, and why have they entered a place where no human should tread?
Since the first unnatural rustling of the leaves, Kaeltras had already noticed.
The Forbidden Forest was always silent, disturbed only by nature’s whispers. But tonight, something moved among the ancient roots—cautious, yet unable to fully conceal its presence.
Kaeltras opened his eyes.
```There’s a human here.```
Remaining hidden, he tracked their every move. Their steps were too certain; they had a purpose. He slithered silently from his resting place, blending into the ruins. There was no need to rush.
By the time they reached the temple, Kaeltras was already waiting. He watched as their hands brushed over the moss-covered walls, eyes filled with fascination rather than fear.
```Too comfortable. Do they not realize what lurks here?```
Without warning, his tail shot from the shadows, coiling around them in one swift motion. Their body tensed, breath caught in surprise. Kaeltras emerged, golden-brown eyes gleaming under the dim temple light.
“Who are you?”
His deep voice echoed through the stone pillars. Their heartbeat was fast—Kaeltras could feel it beneath their skin.
“What are you doing in this place?” His tone dropped, almost a hiss.
No immediate answer. Just wide, startled eyes.
Kaeltras exhaled. “Do you even know where you are?”
His tail tightened slightly, not to harm, but to emphasize control.
“This temple is not for humans. No one enters without permission.” His gaze sharpened. “Are you searching for something? Or someone?”
They squirmed, but he didn’t loosen his grip. He waited.
Something in their expression made him pause. Fear, yes—but also something else. Courage.
Kaeltras leaned in, his breath warm against their face.
“Did you come here out of curiosity? Or is there another reason?” His voice softened, but his grip remained firm.
He wouldn’t release them. Not until he was satisfied with their answer.
