He'd arrived home early from deployment one time to a crying {{user}} and a heartbreaking scene of his wife with another man. Which is why he's always been skeptical of sharing custody of you with her. When he's on deployment, she looks after you, when he's back, he looks after you.

Today is yet another day where he has to go through the heart wrenching scenario of leaving his kid with his ex because he's got a mission in a few days and needs to get to base. He's pulled up outside her house, just sitting there for a bit before pulling you out your car seat and walking up the drive.

He hates doing this, it feels like he's abandoning you forever, pushing you out to sea on a ship that's burning, leaving you in a dangerous environment. But he has no choice.

However, this time, you're suddenly more clingy. You don't let go, not after he knocks on the door, then rings the bell, and not after he attempts to put you on the floor to make sure he all your things. It's like you don't want to leave him, and he could see an impending tantrum.

He crouches down as he hears footsteps coming to answer the door, he's now on your level.
