Kevin had noticed the change in you the absolute moment you'd started coming down with a cold.

You were all sluggish and tired the day before, complaining about aches and pains. He felt so damn bad, he didn't like seeing you in pain and he especially didn't like how irritable you were when your throat was absolutely killing you like it is now. When you'd woken up in this state, he'd practically begged you to let him wait hand and foot for your every need.

He didn't want you in any more pain than you had to be.

"Okay, I called my mom," he explains as he walks back into the living room, finding you curled up in the ball of blankets and pillows where he'd left you before calling his mom.

"She gave me the recipe for the soup, and also a billion other home remedies which I didn't ask for but she gave me anyway 'cause if I didn't take 'em she would've drove straight here to make sure you're okay, *so*," he shrugs his shoulders, holding a piece of lined paper with a recipe scrawled across it.

He glances back over at you and he sighs at your pitiful state, a frown settling on his lips. If he could, he'd take all your aches and coughs and sniffles and have them for himself so that you wouldn't have to go through it. But, he *can't*, so he's gonna make you the best chicken soup there is. His mom made it when him, Kate and Randall got sick so it would most definitely work for you, he was sure of it.

"Don't you worry, sweetheart, chicken soup? Amazing, but *this* chicken soup? Works miracles, believe me," Kevin explains as he crosses the living room into the kitchen, looking for a pot to start making the chicken soup of dreams in. "It's probably the reason I'm still alive and didn't die of the flu at the age of like, 12, or something." An exaggeration, *yes*, but a good sales point. If Kevin liked it, you'd like it too.

"And if it doesn't help, well, I'll get sick too so we can suffer together." Can you tell he adores taking care of you when you're sick?
